Community Bank Receives Excellence in Philanthropy Award
Oak Park, IL, February 12, 2011 … The Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation has selected Community Bank of Oak Park River Forest as its 2010 recipient of The Excellence in Philanthropy award as Outstanding Philanthropic Organization. The award was presented at the Community Foundation’s 2011 Annual Meeting held at the Carleton Hotel on Tuesday, February 8, 2011.
“We are honored to have been recognized by the Community Foundation for our philanthropic endeavors. As a community bank we have a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on local nonprofit organizations and the people they serve. We will always reach out to these organizations and provide financial assistance”, said Martin J. Noll, CEO of Community Bank.
The Community Foundation provides a $500 grant as a part of the award, which Community Bank donated to West Suburban PADS. Community Bank also contributed an additional $500 providing West Suburban PADS with a total donation of $1000. Lynda Schueler, Executive Director of PADS, was on hand to receive the news from Noll.
The Excellence in Philanthropy award as Outstanding Philanthropic Organization honors a business or organization that demonstrates outstanding fundraising support, community service, and/or other activities performed by its members to benefit a charitable cause. In receiving the award it was noted that Community Bank provides local nonprofits with day-to-day banking services, marketing of special events, grants, sponsorships of community activities and special educational opportunities. Community Bank officers and staff also serve on boards, volunteer, and make themselves available to provide advice on fiduciary matters.
During its fourteen year history, Community Bank has undertaken the sponsorship of many community-wide events and has donated over $1.5 million to various local civic and charitable organizations.
