11th Annual Makin' Tracks Benefits West Suburban Special Recreation Association

Oak Park, IL, November 17, 2008 - - - The Community Bank Makin’ Tracks 5K Run/Walk committee was proud to present a donation in the amount of $10,000 to the West Suburban Special Recreation Association (WSSRA), a local nonprofit organization. The $10,000 donation represents proceeds raised at the 11th Annual Community Bank Makin’ Tracks 5K Run/Walk held on Saturday, September 27, on the Concordia University Campus. Over 500 runners and walkers of all ages participated in this annual event, most from the Oak Park, River Forest and Forest Park communities.

On hand to accept the donation from the Makin’ Tracks 5K committee was Sandra Gbur, Executive Director of WSSRA. Ms. Gbur was accompanied by Molly Mullins and Patrick O’Rourke, both are active participants in WSSRA. The mission of WSSRA is to provide superior recreation services for persons with disabilities through first class program opportunities, responsive outreach and professional and caring staff in a safe and fun environment.

Community Bank of Oak Park River Forest along with the River Forest Park District, Concordia University Chicago, Fenwick High School and Oak Park River Forest High School sponsor and organize the annual Makin’ Tracks 5K. The race is a CARA certified 3.1 mile USATF-certified course that begins at the intersection of Monroe and Division streets in River Forest near the Concordia University running track (northwest campus corner) and extends through the streets of River Forest.
